A local group providing food to people in need is being given a helping hand from the Commonwealth Bank Yass branch.

The bank has donated $500 to Vine Community FoodCare as part of a nationwide community donation program.
The program has $500,000 to give to community organisations across Australia and each branch has been allocated $500 to pass onto a worthy cause in its community.
"We're very excited to have the opportunity to support Vine Community FoodCare," Commonwealth Bank Yass branch manager Ryan Cassidy said.
"The community support Vine Community FoodCare continues to provide to so many people in and around Yass is invaluable, so it's great to be able to give back and support this work," he said.
FoodCare is run by Yass Vine Church and has helped 520 families since 2014.
The money will replace funds used by the church to install a new sliding door that makes the centre easier to access, Yass Vine Church pastor Gary Brown said.
FoodCare is busier during the colder months and is currently helping between 50 and 70 people purchase affordable groceries per week, Mr Brown said.
Anyone with a Centrelink or Health Care Card can use FoodCare and gets free fruit, vegetables, bread and meat when they spend a minimum of $8.
It's open at 66 Lead Street, Yass every Thursday, 10am-12pm and 6-7pm.
"On behalf of the Vine Community and Vine Community FoodCare we are so grateful for the support of the local Commonwealth Bank and its members," Mr Brown said. "We're all contributing to the community, it's a team effort and every little bit helps."
People can also enjoy a coffee or tea and a chat with the volunteers.
