Scott Eulenstein appointed head coach of Murrumbateman Tennis Club

Eulenstein, who will juggle duties between Yass and Murrumbateman, said that the prospect of adding a new role to his schedule was "really exciting ... I've been connected with the club for quite some time now.

"The position became vacant during the year, and I popped an application in and was lucky enough to obtain the position."

The vacancy at Murrumbateman opened after the retirement of Kim Williams, who coached at the club for roughly a decade.

President of the Murrumbateman Tennis Club, Tash Amerasinghe, said that the club has come along in leaps and bounds under Williams' guidance, and that she was excited to see what Eulenstein would add.

"Kim Williams has put a lot of time and effort into where the club is at the moment, so credit to him," she said.

"It's nice to have fresh eyes and fresh blood taking us forward. Scott's done some really great things in Yass, so we're looking forward to progressing the club in Murrumbateman."

Eulenstein has coached at the Hume Tennis Club in Yass for the last four years, where he has instructed of a number of talented youngsters, and overseen the introduction of the Junior Development Series.

The incoming coach told the Tribune that he looks forward to facilitating kids' and adults' lessons and public holiday clinics.

During his brief previous experiences with the Murrumbateman Tennis Club, Eulenstein said that the standard of tennis he has seen was "really good", and said that his role will be trying to expand the sport in conjunction with the growth of the village.

"A lot of people travel into Canberra for either schooling or employment, so it's a case of offering something that's user-friendly and a lot of good-quality coaching and looking at boosting the numbers," he said.

"[I'm also looking at] linking in with the Yass Tennis Club as well to offer competitions and various programs through the backing of Tennis Australia."
