Well-known local identity and former long-term garage proprietor, Jack Kemp, turned the ripe old age of 90 at the weekend.

He celebrated with more than 50 close friends and relatives at a function at Yass Bowling Club organised by his daughter, Pauline Hall.
Older residents will recall Mr Kemp owning Yass Motors in its two locations on Comur Street from 1963 until the end of 1997 when he retired.
Prior to then, Mr Kemp served his apprenticeship with Jack Williams in the very same garage that he would end up owning all those years later.
The picture taken at the function shows Jack with his two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr Kemp and Ada Kemp both acknowledged everyone for their attendance and their life-like friendships, which they both cherish very much.
