The council have recently begun the construction of the Yass to Murrumbateman Pipeline.
This is a major infrastructure project that, once completed, will ensure guaranteed water security to the steadily growing village of Murrumbateman.
Heritage grants
The council have awarded $19,000 in funding to six community groups and organisations under the council's 2019/20 Heritage Grants Program.
Our Heritage Grants Program is a wonderful way for us to provide assistance to undertake projects that enhance positive community attitudes towards heritage and conservation.
They also support maintenance projects to ensure the long term survival of our history.
General manager recruitment
With the recent departure of our general manager, Sharon Hutch, the council has begun the recruitment process for a new general manager.
An outside agency will be advertising the position nationwide and conducting initial interviews on the council's behalf.
As part of the final selection process, a shortlist of candidates will be provided to the council and all councillors will conduct interviews to determine a successful candidate.
