The vehicle was sighted by police in the air on the same day, Inspector Matthew Hinton of Yass Police Station said.

It was spotted discretely parked in Yass, he said.

About 5.30am the driver of the car failed to stop for police and a police pursuit began.

Police had requested the car to stop for a random breath test, Inspector Hunton said.

The red Ford XR6 was last seen heading towards Binalong before police ended the pursuit.

They believed the car was parked in Yass or nearby and had called for public assistance to locate the car.
