One of two northbound lanes has been closed and will remain closed for some time while the accident scene is closed, Inspector Matthew Hinton of Yass Police Station said.
There is a queue of traffic about one kilometre up the highway, he said.
Both lanes were closed around 12.15pm while a 62-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital, Mark Gibbs of Ambulance NSW said.
The woman was trapped inside the vehicle earlier.
She had sustained a serious injury to her arm and another injury to her pelvis.
However, she was talking to paramedics and in a stable condition, Mr Gibbs said.
Fire and Rescue NSW Station 511 Yass removed the roof from the vehicle and freed the woman about 11.15am.
Drivers should expect delays and exercise caution.
Police and paramedics are also on scene.
Speed should be reduced to 40 kilometres per hour when passing emergency service vehicles with flashing lights and sirens.
More information as it comes to hand.
