The region has experienced sun, cold winds, hail and rain within hours of each other.
Residents woke up to temperatures above ten degrees, which rose to above 16 degrees by late morning.
But by lunchtime, winter winds were blowing and the temperature felt like three degrees at Canberra Airport and seven degrees at Goulburn Airport.
In Crookwell there was hail and showers crossed the region about 2pm.
Four millimeters of rain have been recorded at Canberra Airport but nothing so far at Goulburn Airport.
More rain is predicted for the Yass Valley, Queanbeyan, Braidwood, Goulburn and Crookwell between now and 5pm.
A warning has been issued for sheep graziers in the region by the Bureau of Meteorology.
There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these cold temperatures, showers and south westerly winds.
The next warning will be issued by BOM at 5pm.
