The news was announced at the Chamber's weekly Networking Breakfast on Friday, November 1.
Vice president Andrew Curlewis will become acting president until the Chamber's annual general meeting in June.
He said he was happy to help to allow Mr Davis a well-deserved break.
"The main thing is that we keep the Chamber on track," he said.
Mr Curlewis said he would feel out the role between now and June and see if it was "in the best interest of the Chamber" before putting his hand up to be president.
He has called for expressions of interest for new committee members and said the response was "encouraging".
The Chamber will be busy organising its end of year celebrations on November 28, 6-9pm, at Yass Hotel and late night Christmas shopping on December 12 and 19.
Tickets to the Chamber's end of year celebrations are on Eventbrite ($25 for members and $50 for non-members).
