Owners Caleb and Janine Bright said they decided to stop their retail business to focus on providing IT solutions to businesses.
Mr Bright said it was a hard decision to make and had been discussed for more than 12 months.
"Although it is a good retail business, the business solutions side of the business is growing and there are no boundaries to that growth," Mr Bright said.
"We support people all around Australia and internationally, whereas we can't do that with retail without having physical premises in those locations."
"We were becoming too stretched and with the business solutions side of the business growing and the retail business being so big, we weren't able to put 100 per cent into both," Mrs Bright said.
"They are two really different businesses, so we had to make a decision about what we were going to focus on," Mr Bright said.
Only one redundancy had been made, Mr Bright said.
The business owners said their intention was to continue servicing business customers in Yass; however, they would no longer provide IT support to individuals or sell products in town.
Think Technology has a smaller shop in Wagga Wagga, which will remain open for now, Mr Bright said.
"Hopefully, our individual customers will stay local, use Yass IT or it may open the opportunity for another business in town," Mr Bright said.
Large, bright red signs announcing the closure have been placed across the shopfront windows.
Mr Bright said the community had expressed concerns but was positive and understanding.
The Brights said they would hand over the shop lease earlier than December 31 if a suitable offer was made.

After then, they will hold onto the lease and use the shop as their office.
Think Technology, originally Yass Computers, began in 1995. Mr Bright started working for Yass Computers in 2000 and he and Mrs Bright bought the business in 2009.
Yass Computers was primarily a retail business and the Brights gradually grew its IT solutions capability.

They changed the name in 2011, expanded to Wagga Wagga in 2015, and Brisbane in 2018.
"We have had very good support, we've been very lucky. We've had a lot of long-term customers," Mr Bright said.
