The funding was part of a nationwide community donation program.
A total of $500,000 was available to give to community organisations across Australia and each branch was allocated $500 to pass onto a community cause of its choice.
Commonwealth Bank's Yass branch team voted to support the work of Yass Valley SPIN Foundation.
"With the festive season approaching, it's a timely opportunity for us to show our support for the Yass Valley SPIN Foundation," Commonwealth Bank Yass branch manager Ryan Cassidy said. "In particular, talking to members of the committee it is clear the amount of hard work and passion that has been going into starting SPIN," Mr Cassidy said.
"Having resources available in Yass to help families who may not qualify for assistance from other organisations is a great idea the team from SPIN have come up with, so it's great to be able to give back and support this work."
SPIN Foundation launched as a sub-branch of the Lions Club of Yass in July 2019 and is run by local volunteers.
The charity supports people with a broad range of medical conditions such as motor neurone disease, Parkinson's disease, stroke and heart disease in the region.
The $500 donation will provide medical assistance to local patients, the foundation's spokesperson and publicity officer Barry O'Mara said.
