Yass local is one of the rural women who have been recognised on the Hidden Treasures Honour Roll 2020.
Catriona McAullife is one of the many rural women who have been recognised for volunteering in their communities across NSW.
"It's an honour and feels nice to be one of the hardworking women who have been recognised in the honour roll across the state. It's humbling to be named in the honour roll and great recognition for people who are working behind the scenes," she said.
She has been a part of the Yass Show for 20 years and is on the organising committee for the Rural Women's Gathering in Forbes in 2021 among other things. "I have tried to share my knowledge with others and have ended up being treasurer for several organisations," she said.
Mrs McAullife feels that women in regional areas are already contributing their time to the community and volunteering. "I would like to see more women sharing their expertise that lots of volunteering organisations need and that will also help to get the next generation involved," she added.
She is an exemplary Regional Services Manager for NSW Farmers across several regions supporting an incredibly vast and diverse membership in the Central West Region, from Yass to Canowindra, via Temora and Peak Hill to Hillston.
An annual initiative of the Department of Primary Industries' Rural Women's Network, Hidden Treasures recognises the outstanding efforts of women volunteers in NSW and promotes the valuable role of volunteering to the community.
This year, a total of 104 rural women were recognised for the contribution they have made through volunteering.
