Poidevin followed up his mammoth ton with four wickets, as his side restricted the Buffaloes to 110 in its chase of 255.
The grand final replay at Victoria Park started promisingly for Bowning who took early wickets, but once Poidevin steadied the ship they were never in it. Adrian Waters scored 38 in support but nothing would be taken away from Poidevin, who registered one of the best performances of his career.
In the corresponding first grade fixture at O’Connor Park, the Soldiers Club snuck past a gallant Pirates side. The Pirates opened the batting and posted 117. The Soldiers Clubs’ Matt Davis toiled away snatching 3/21.
In what was meant to be a straight-forward run chase, the Snipers seized up somewhat and just managed to snatch the victory. They were eight wickets down and only had two wickets remaining when they eventually reached the target.
Jason McCamish got 40 for the Soldiers Club in what ended up being a match-saving performance.
