Melbourne-born Eamonn Dixon had no plans to attend the iconic NFL match, but jumped at the chance when he was offered tickets on the morning of the game.
Mr Dixon booked a flight to Arizona, from his adopted home in California, and rushed to take his seat in the stadium as the national anthem was wrapping up.

He found the surprise seats were perfectly positioned to catch the Kansas City Chiefs' match-winning ball, a field goal that beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 with seconds to spare.
"I was filming this historic moment and it drifted over the net," he told 3AW.
Looking back at video footage, Mr Dixon said the catch "was a little less clean" than he had imagined, but is happy he didn't drop his phone in the chaos.
Footage of the catch shows a security guard patting Mr Dixon on the back.
He revealed the security guard told him he should leave the stadium "pretty quickly with that thing".

Before Mr Dixon was able to slip quietly away, he said punters were trying to take the ball from him.
"Everyone was asking for photos with me and giving me high fives," he said.
When asked how the ball compares with an AFL ball, Mr Dixon said it's "a little pointier, but about the same".
The surprise ticket came from Mr Dixon's advertising clients, Doritos, who launched a commercial featuring rapper Jack Harlow during the match.
The creative director said he is "incredibly proud" of the ad he helped create.
