Astonishing footage has emerged of a snake catcher removing two pythons from a Sunshine Coast home.

Residents were alerted to their presence after loud thuds were heard coming from the roof.

The removal of a light fitting in the kitchen revealed two male carpet pythons locked in a vicious battle.

Realising there wasn't enough space to retreive the reptiles, a small square hole was cut in the ceiling to extract them.

The two snakes were still fighting each other when they were pulled from the ceiling.

Standing on the kitchen bench with a snake hook, Tiarnah from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers pulled the pythons from the opening.

She was able to grab both snakes by the head as one wrapped around her left arm and the other draped itself over her shoulder.

Seemingly more concerned for the pythons' wellbeing than her own, she tells the home owner "I hate holding them like that" before stepping off the countertop and placing them in a container.
