A group of sunseekers has bravely returned a mako shark to the ocean after the massive fish beached itself on the US shore in Pensacola, Florida on September 14.

Footage filmed by an onlooker shows four men grabbing at the slippery tail of the mighty mako shark as it flails angrily on the sand.

An onlooker calls to the men "babe, it's too dangerous, don't be doing that" as the men realise they'll be knee-deep in water with the scared shark after pushing it to safety.

The men hold tightly to the shark's tail as they point its large teeth to the horizon and scramble out of the water without incident.
