According to Australia Post, 1,277 dog-related incidents occurred nationwide from April 30 to October 30.

One in three dog-related incidents occurred at customers' front doors during parcel deliveries.
Top states for dog attacks
Queensland is the top state for postie dog attacks with 505 recorded in the last six months.
The Sunshine State is followed by NSW which had 367 attacks.
Western Australia rounds out the top three with 152 attacks followed by Victoria with 114 attacks.
The top regional NSW location is Tamworth with 20 attacks followed by Moree with 15 attacks.
Range of injuries
Australia Post general manager Rod Maule said posties sustained a range of injuries including puncture wounds and lacerations.
"Many of our team members suffer from long-term psychological impacts following an attack too," he said.
Mr Maule said councils needed to do more to adopt stricter measures.
"Aggressive or dangerous dogs are reported to council and local rangers, however too often we see risks are not properly mitigated," he said.
"This often leads to multiple instances of the same dog repeating aggressive behaviour, which can result in a severe attack on our Postie.
While regional areas might not account for the highest number of dog-related incidents compared to metro areas, the challenge with regional areas was often the prevalence of "bigger dogs, and the type of fencing".
"Those dogs are inclined to protect their territory and often are not as well secured as those in some metro areas," Mr Maule said.
