This weekend is likely to be a good one for fast bowlers, after the rain which has pervaded the region for the last week.

In the match at Victoria Park, which is likely to have thrived under the sopping conditions and constant rain, the Yass Golf Club Piranhas will take on the Bowning Buffaloes in a contest between three and four on the ladder in which both teams will be seeking to claw their way upwards before the Christmas break.
The Piranhas and the Buffaloes are looking to recover from a recent slide in the rankings, courtesy of the Aussie Pirates who have recently made a habit of winning matches from positions of vulnerability.
The Pirates themselves will take on the the Gundaroo Goats at Gundaroo. This will provide the Goats with a desperately needed home advantage against the top ranked team, who are on a roll following their unlikely victories.
The Goats will need to shore up their brittle batting lineup ahead of the weekend, because the Pirates will be fielding star fast bowler Billy Bolger, who bowled quickly and hit his spots against Cootamundra in the most recent round of the Stribley Shield.
In the Sweeney Cup, the Bookham Bulls play the Boorowa Gators at Bookham Oval, the Pirates will take on the Yass Taipans at O’Connor Park, the Boorowa Crocs are up against Binalong at Boorowa, and Harden play Dalton at Tim Doolan Oval.
All matches will take place at 12:30pm on Saturday December 9.
If the weather is still inclement, live updates and match cancellations will be posted on the Yass District Cricket Association Facebook page.
