The incident occured along the back straight of the track on Friday, January 12 in which the round was also the Scott Darley Challenge Night.
“It was nothing big, just an awkward fall against the concrete wall,” he said.
Scorgie said the crash was caused by a vehicle-part failure in the front end.
“It didn’t go quite to plan at the start of the feature,” he said.
“It [the failure] caused me to go over and collected by a couple of cars.”
Scorgie and the team managed to get the vehicle back together but unfortunately did not race in round 12 (January 13) of the USC NSW.
“It was due to a kink in the chassis above my head being too unsafe to run,” he said.
Scorgie thanked all those involved at the races and back home, in Yass.
“Thanks to everyone for the concerns and help.
“I’m all good, off to build another car,” he said.
Fast during earlier sessions
Earlier on January 12, he finished in fourth during the heat race with a total time of 2:15.537.
Robbie Farr topped the chart with 2:10.647.
During qualifying on the same day, Scorgie went fifth quickest with a time of 13.429 seconds, which was just over two tenths slower than Shaun Dobson’s first-place time.
Scorgie currently sits at 18th (out of 84 drivers) on the USC NSW standings with 858 points, 390 behind leader James Thompson.
The next round of the NSW championship will be at Valvoline Raceway, Sydney, on Saturday, February 10.
