The children trained hard all summer under head coach, Callan Kemp, and were rewarded with the annual barbecue, games day and presentation at the close of the swimming season.
The swimmers were particularly pleased with their performances at the Shine Shield, taking home the overall trophy for Yass in the keenly contested local competition.
They also competed at their school swimming carnivals, achieving many personal best times, some Age Champion ribbons and runners-up awards, while also showing great sportsmanship against their fellow training partners.
The swimmers then moved onto their district and regional carnivals, performing well and representing the Yass Valley with pride.
At Dapto, the squad competed against school students who train 12 months of the year, attracting praise from their coach for their efforts.
Most importantly, they got to purchase, and wear, the South Coast Representative jumper.
Some of the Yass Valley Council (YVC) squad also competed in the ACT school carnivals with impressive results.
