Alarmo is the aptly-named 'sound clock' product announced by Nintendo on Thursday morning, October 10. The unexpected announcement came following speculation about a recent FCC filing by the company for a mystery wireless device that we now know was the alarm clock.

The cartoonishly proportioned bedside buddy - that resembles an IKEA Stopla clock - works much like a regular alarm clock but in typical Nintendo fashion, features a number of novel features. The clock can react to your movements, letting it know when you're up and out of bed or want another 15 minutes of shuteye.
The clock lets you set a theme based on your favourite Nintendo characters, among the examples shown were Pikmin, Mario, Zelda, Splatoon and Ring Fit Adventure. The large mushroom-shaped dial and some smaller buttons are used to set up the clock and if you feel like it, you can even choose to be lulled to sleep with a selection of ambient sounds.
The clock will track your sleep patterns using the sensors but in an FAQ posted online, Alarmo is not recommended for couples or people that let their pets sleep on the bed. This is better suited to those who sleep alone.
Alarmo isn't yet available in Australia, but it is expected to cost more than $120 converted from USD and will only be available to Nintendo Switch Online service subscribers.
Nintendo also posted an interview with the developers of Alarmo that you can read here.
